Chrome Extension to Schedule Google+ Posts

Hi guys, I have written number of social networking tips and tricks on Tech Pack. This time I’m telling you how to pre-schedule Google+ posts. Yep! I’m introducing you a useful Chrome extension to schedule your Google+ posts.

Google+ user base is growing day by day. The fact, Google is introducing lots of cool features to Google+ frequently. The recent one in this category is the announcement of the availability of live Hangout (video streaming). Google began to roll out this new feature publicly to let anyone broadcast their conversation live. OK, some greate features are there still missing a simple features like pre-schedule posting.

A new Chrome add on fill this area. Do Share is a Chrome extension to schedule your Google+ posts. It’s fast and have a cool interface. Just like Google+ posting, you can add URL and select circles etc. from with in Do Share. What happens to your post put in Do Share. Once complete your posting, you can schedule it or send to draft for future update before posting. Also if you wish you can easily share your post immediately.

Pros :

Draft Posts for later editing and publishing in an easy to access way using Do Share “send to drafts” feature.
Write posts and schedule it for later.
Copy and Paste URL of your favorite posts on blogs to post to Google + using “schedule” or “share now”
Supports +mentioning and select Circles.

Cons :

Do not support adding videos / images. When you use links of blog posts with images, that image will appear in Do Share.
Can’t sync your scheduled posts on other computer.
Only post your scheduled posts if you are signed into Google+ on Chrome at the scheduled time.

TweetDeck Got Major Overhaul and Now Supports Media Previews

TweetDeck is now really amazing me with the latest update. Twitter released a new version of TweetDeck today. The latest version of TweetDeck comes with some great features such as List Management, Two New Tabs – Activity and Interactions, and Media Preview. There are also some other features and bug fixes that the new overhaul brings to TweetDeck. Media Preview is the major enhancement in new TweetDeck.

The new inline Media Preview allows you to view images and videos faster and more easily on TweetDeck. If you are using the updated version of TweetDeck app, now on you will see a small preview of images and videos under the related Tweet. Just click on it to view a large preview of images and videos in an in-app media gallery.

Other worthy features in this update is the new two Tabs named Activity and Interactions (under “add column” button). Being a regular TweetDeck user, I like it very much and now I feel more organized on TweetDeck. How? With the activity tab added I can see my latest Twitter activities like whom I followed, my retweets and favorites. The Interactions tabs is just opposite of the Activity. It shows not only all of your mentions, but also alerts when you have been followed, added to a list, retweeted or favorited. A new List management button and modifications in retweet options are also worth to check.

As already told existing users need to update their app to see the new features in action. It is very simple to update your existing TweetDeck on Windows and Chrome. In the first case you only need to restart your app and in the second case close your browser and restart it. Mac users should open the Mac App Store and click Updates to grab the updated TweetDeck app.

Google+ Hangout Gets New Mask Features, Offers Funny Live Video Chatting Experience

Watch the 2012 Brazilian Carnival Live Streaming Video Online

The 2012 Brazilian Carnival live streaming video will be available on YouTube from 16th February to 21st February 2012. Google will live telecast the carnival directly from the streets of Salvador on its YouTube channel on the above said days. Google has also arranged a chatting facility on Carnival’s channel. You can chat with peoples from around the world who are also watching the Brazilian Carnival live streaming video through a map that Google has specially integrated just for the occasion.

Google announced the live telecast of 2012 Brazilian Carnival on its blog and mentioned what it will telecast online.

Watch the festivities wherever you are in the world on the Carnival YouTube Channel. Starting Thursday, February 16, you’ll have access to everything from a live transmission of the streetfest to videos of bands who have traveled to Salvador to host the party. You’ll even be able to chat with other YouTube users who are watching the party with you from around the world through a map we’ve integrated just for the occasion.

During the Carnival season, tourists from around the world visits Brazil and the country almost stops around a week during the peak of the holiday festival. Your Removed Facebook Photos Still Remain Online

My removed Facebook photos still remain online! It is a surprise news for me. Today I’ve come across this news and we can get in to the detail.

Facebook is getting very popular day by day and more than 200 million photos are uploaded to it per day. If you are on Facebook, you may have also uploaded many pics on it by now. And of course there are chances that some of you may have surely deleted some of the photos uploaded for some reason. It may be because of a second thought that the photo uploaded is not worth to share, or someone commented it negatively, or keeping privacy in mind or any other reason. But beware! The deleted photos are still accessible if someone copied the image URL already or you shared the photo by email.

It is true as day light that your long ago removed Facebook photos are still remain online. If you have deleted some of your pics from Facebook for any reason long ago, it can still accessible if you or anyone has the image URL of the photo deleted. Soon I came across this surprise news,I’ve verified it myself. The photo only disappeared from public view. No one including yourself can’t see it on Facebook anymore. But can open it if you have the image link.

The Daily Mail reported quoting Facebook that Facebook do not always delete images in a reasonable period of time. So think twice before uploading a photo on Facebook. If the photo in question circulated by email, it can be accessible at any point of time even if you deleted it from your Facebook account.

Control email notifications that we receive from social networks, where we active, is not a big issue. But we need to spend some time to make the necessary settings. Majority of people who are active on social networks, keeps their account on many social networks. But they may active on few. It is true in my case also. My list of connected social networks include Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube etc. To be frank, I’m only active on few of these social networks. I normally use Google+, Facebook and Twitter to share important events with my friends and fans. But as a result I often get filled my mail inbox with notifications from many social networks.

We get email notifications from social networks when something happens on that sites mentioning us. The majority of notifications I get usually from Facebook and Google+. It may be because I’m more active on them. It is a pain to delete all of these notifications. Some times, I missed out important mails between the overflow of notifications from social networks.

All social networks offer control over notifications but we aren’t taking care of it. It may be due to our ignorance or didn’t find time to spend for it. No doubt Facebook is the favorite social networking site of millions of people across the globe. To enhance users’ social experience Facebook unveils new features often. To be honest, Facebook users are getting more and more features quite often after the launch of its rival Google+. Thanks to the healthy competition between the two. Quite recently Facebook released a new chat messenger app for Windows 7 users. It was a sudden release as reported by leading technology sites and that due to the leak of the app before its official launch. So clearly the trial version of Facebook Chat Messenger badly needed some update.

Now Facebook chat messenger has got an important update. From now on there is no need for you to sign in with Facebook on browser to use this official Facebook desktop chat client. We covered the news about the official launch of Facebook chat messenger for Windows 7 few days back. That time it was quite annoying to use the app due to the browser sign in. Some of my friends even failed to login to the chat messenger even after sign in on the web. Now Facebook removed the restriction. You can easily sign in to the Facebook chat messenger without even open your browser. That means just like Google Talk you can access official Facebook Chat Messenger by directly sing in from within the messenger window.

Add Text to Photos on Google+ – New Feature

Add Text to Photos on Google+ without depending any additional tool. Yep! Google+ has got yet another unique feature. Google+ users will get the new feature add text to photos within few weeks. The new feature will enable them to add bold texts to their uploaded photos prior to sharing. Make your friends ROFL by adding some funny texts on Photos. In an official Google+ post, Colin McMillen, Software Engineer at Google announced about the new feature.

Now how to add text to photos?

It is just simple. Upload photos to the share box. Then click on the Add Text link below the image. Refer screenshot below.

Google is rolling out the new feature in coming few weeks. So obviously Add Text to Photos feature is not yet available on my account too. Once it is available we can see more interesting streams on Google+.

It is evident that Google is putting hard efforts to make its new social network a number one venture. So far the future of Google+ is bright and who knows a day will come when Google+ become the #1 social network in the world surpassing Facebook.
