Last year Google introduced Google Art Project powered by Google Street View technology. During the time of launch Google added world’s famous 17 art museums to the project that spread across several countries including USA, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, U.K., France, The Netherlands, Russia and Italy. I had covered the news that time with the full list of museums included in Google Art Project at the launch under the title Google Art Project – Take a Virtual Tour Inside Some Famous Art Museums. Now Google has included few more art museums to this project. The list of new entrants in Google Art Project includes New Delhi’s National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), The White House in Washington and the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar.

Below is the screenshot of a Raja Ravi Varma (1848-1906) Painting adorning the wall of NGMA New Delhi.

I recall my visit to the Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Thiruvananthapuram, few moths back where I could see plenty of amazing art works including some of the famous Raja Ravi Varma paintings. I could see many students inside the art gallery taking notes about the paintings. I could reach there only because it is not far away from my home town. But many of us can’t visit all part of the world solely for visiting art museums. Thanks to Google. Now we can use Google Art Project extensively to watch the art works of legendary artists in high resolution on our PC. Really a great resource for students.

On Google Art Project we can watch the paintings from any angle, zoom in or zoom out. It is a virtual tour inside some of the world acclaimed museums. So check it out today.
