Windows 8 Consumer Preview comes with an integrated Windows Store. It is the home of Windows 8 Metro Apps. By default you get some Metro Apps with your Windows 8 installation. Internet Explorer, Photos, Calendar, Sky Drive, Maps, Windows Reader, and Messaging are few of them. You can also see the Windows Store app on the start screen. If you can’t see it on the start screen it may by unpinned. You can get it back by clicking Search on the Windows 8 Charms Bar.
Whenever there is an update for your installed app available, you will be notified about the same on the Windows Store. Microsoft is started to provide update to few of its default installed Metro Apps. If you have also installed third party apps from the Windows Store, if any relevant updates available, it will also be notified by the above same way. At present updates to few metro apps are available. It includes the Weather, Maps, Photos, Mail, Calendar, People, etc. apps. To update Windows 8 Metro apps, first go to Windows 8 Store. Inside the Windows 8 store you can see “Updates” link on top right hand corner of your computer screen. Click it to see all available updates. Select the required apps and click “Install” that you can see far right hand bottom corner of the screen. It will initiate the installation process of the updates.
