Undo sent email messages is practically impossible. But in Gmail you can enable a Lab feature called Undo Sent to undo sent email messages but you have to act within moments once you have sent a message. You can withdraw a sent email immediately. It will be useful:
- When you have accidenly hit the SEND button
- You have realized soon after hitting the Send button that the message was incomplete, and forgot a file attachement etc.
The Undo Sent lab feature makes sense because the above second case is common when we are in a hurry.
How Do I Enable Undo Sent Email Feature
You can enable the undo sent email feature from Gmail Settings. There go to Labs and search for Undo Sent. Just make it enable and save settings.
How to Undo or Withdraw a Sent Mail in Gmail Immediately
Immediately after you have sent an email message you can see an additional option to undo sent email next to the message saying “Your message has been sent”. Click on it. The sent mail will be withdrawn immediately. You can make necessary correction on it and send back.
But if you have used wrong email ID, Undo Send feature will not retrieve the message. In that case you will get the normal failure notice from Gmail

Also read our another useful Gmail how to article regarding scheduling email message sending on Gmail. Send Email Later in a Scheduled Date and Time on Gmail and Inbox Clean Up. This is about a plugin called Boomerang which you can use to postpone your message delivery, remove messages from your inbox and call back the same at a stipulated time. I again noted it here as it is a very useful browser add-on for Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Not a new one actually, I am using this feature more than 1.5yrs.
