VideoLAN released its latest version of VLC media player, VLC 2.0, for Windows and Mac. The earlier major release of VLC was VLC 1.1.x which got 485 million downloads so far. The new final version of VLC 2.0 comes with several hundreds of bug fixes. Thanks to the committed volunteers of VLC.
VLC 2.0 “Twoflower” is VideoLAN’s new version media player. VLC is one of the best media player now available in the market and definitely one of my favorite. Why I like VLC is that it is totally free and its ability to open almost all media formats without installing any additional codecs. You can open any media files on VLC that I find difficult on other popular free media player alternatives.
If you are using any media player it is important to upgrade to the latest version of that media player. The new version media player usually comes with several bug fixes to avoid security flaws. It is true in VLC’s case also.

The new upgraded VLC 2.0 brings faster decoding on multi-core, GPU, and mobile hardware. The Mac and web interfaces are also reworked along with some other interface improvements.
