Gmail Offline App Now Supports Keyboard Shortcuts

Gmail Offline app got some important updates. It’s almost five months left since Google first introduced its HTML 5 powered Gmail offline app for browser Chrome. This is the first time Google announced an update for this app. Offline Gmail app is a very useful application for Chrome users. This app allows users to compose and read Gmail in offline and syncs when they go online. Other than the offline support, the main advantage of this Gmail offline app is that it’s superfast and the tablet like user interface of it. Today Google announced in a blog post about the first update to this app. Gmail offline now gets a new settings icon gmail offline app settings with options to download mail from past week, past two weeks and past month. Other than the above some more features also announced.

How to Access Keyboard Shortcuts in Gmail (both online and offline)

Press Shift+? to know the available keyboard shortcuts in Gmail. As you all know keyboard shortcuts are productivity boosters. If you enabled keyboard shortcuts in Gmail online, your settings will transfer over to the Gmail offline app.

Here are some useful keyboard shortcuts in Gmail.

  • gi : Go to inbox
  • c: compose
  • / : search mail
  • gt : go to sent message
  • p : read previous message
  • n : read next message
  • r : reply
  • # : move to trash
