Auto Detect RSS Feeds on Webpages

Subscribing to RSS Feeds of your favored websites are the easiest way to get timely updates from that sites. You can make use of any popular RSS Readers like Google Reader, Bloglines etc. to read the content from the site you subscribed.

To subscribe to RSS Feeds you need to find the RSS button/links provided on websites. It may be on header, footer, sidebar or any other area of the page you are on.

But Chrome users can benefit from a free add-on from Google that auto detects RSS feeds from available websites and display the RSS icon in the Chrome Omnibox.

When you click on the RSS icon it will provide you options to subscribe to the feed of that site to different readers as well as feed content preview on a new page. There are 4 pre-defined readers. They are Google Reader, iGoogle, Bloglines and My Yahoo. But you can add any reader of your choice.

  1. Hi, I would like to know if is possible and how to do it… I want to found a fully automated way to figure out whether or not a site provides a feed. From a given URL’s spreadsheet list (hundreds…).
