Is this the beginning of a new social media era. Today Google widely opened the door of its recently launched social network Google+ to all. That means anyone over 18 can sign up for an account at Google+. Earlier the access was limited to people in the tech field and journalists. Invitation facility was also added to Google+ that lets many people to access Google + with the help of their contacts having a Google+ account.
Within the first fortnight of its launch, Google+ could manage to secure a whooping 10 million user base that prompted even social giant Facebook to came up with some preventive measures such as new features added to its arsenal in order to block the user outflow.
Facebook implemented video calling, privacy feature similar to Google+ Circles and adding new features more frequently and the last in its kind is the Facebook subscribe and Ticker.
The Circles and Hangout are the two main attracting features Google plus offers to its users.
Circles : By placing your contacts in different Circles you can decide to whom with you are sharing your updates very easily. For example place your classmates or colleagues in one circle, family members in another likewise. You can share the contents with your desired circles then.
Hangout : Hangout is another trendy feature in Google+ that enables users to make video calls with up to 10 people at a time and also they can watch YouTube videos together with their friends.
