Twitter allows you to search for interesting stories tweeted in Twitter, within Twitter or its on standalone search page at http://twitter.com/search or using advanced search page. Earlier Twitter’s standalone search page was at http://search.twitter.com. Twitter announced the changes in a Tweet made few hours back.
Earlier Twitter standalone search page was lacking some cool features that have available in Twitter.com. It is the images and videos related to the search topics appears on the right side panel of Twitter. Now Twitter’s standalone and advanced search mode get these cool features.
How to use Twitter standalone search page and advanced search page to narrow down search results to get the desired results.
You can get optimized search results by applying Search Operators in the search field, if you are using http://twitter.com/search. For example use “angrybirds filter:links” in the search field to get tweets related to the popular game “angrybirds” with linking URL and of course now with the videos and images related to angrybirds on the right side panel of result page.

Otherwise use twitter advanced search directly. No need to use operators there. Twitter omitted date filter as well as tweets with links option on the advanced search homepage. But you can apply it on the search result page.
