Google Takeout – Take Your Data Out of Google

Ever since Google launched Google+, we are unable to post any Google related articles without mentioning the name of this new awesome social networking platform in one way or the other. That is the impact of Google+ among tech savvy people.

Google, virtually you can say from the Data Liberation Front of Google, introduced a revolutionary tool called Google Takeout to export your data from few selected Google services including Google+ Circles in portable and open formats that enable you to easily import the data to other services quickly.

We can’t blame people who doubts Google + is heavily targeting Facebook by hitting its weaker points. While Facebook is trying hard to block any attempt to take out data from it, on the contrary Google+ is offering easy export of data from it. Strange!

I am unable to compare both Facebook and Google + at this stage because of two main reasons. First thing, I don’t have a Plus invitation and secondly I am awaiting for Facebook’s “something awesome” on July 6 which I think, following rumour mills, bring Skype integration to Facebook or something really awesome.

At present in Google Takeout, you can take back-up of your data from different Google services like Buzz, Contacts and Circles, Picasa Web Albums, Profile and Stream, independently or together.

Check it out HERE.

In this social media war who will win? Just wait and see.
