Opera 11 has all the ingredients to be a best alternative to any other browser you are using, whether it is Firefox 4, Chrome 10 or Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). The fresh modern look, easy customization, Opera turbo, panels, Opera unite, * mouse gestures, ** tab stacking… opera is not imitating others.

I’ve already started using Opera 11, at this point I wish to reveal that I don’t like to stuck to any one browser – I use Firefox 4, IE9 (occasionally), Chrome 11 also. Regarding Opera 11 aka Barracuda, it is not a love at first sight. Few days of use make me a stern supporter of Opera.
So in this article I whish to introduce you how to let Opera to store your login names & passwords the first time you enter them and how quickly you can sign in later with the saved passwords using short cut key/password manager button, set master password for your saved password etc.
When you first enter your login name and password on any website you will see a message on top of the page asking your permission to store passwords.

If you opt to Save your login details, it will be saved by Opera. The next time when you visit the website you can simply login to the site by pressing keys Ctrl+Enter on your keyboard or clicking the Password Manager button on the Address Bar.

Everything goes fine with the default setting. If you couldn’t see any message as mentioned above to store login details on any website it may be due to any one of the following reason.
- You have already saved login details
- The default setting is set to ‘”No” by yourself / someone else
- You may have already prefer “Never” to store login details
In the first case you can check or login by pressing keys Ctrl+Enter on your keyboard. Now let us see how to change the default setting.
Go to Menu->Settings->Preferences (Ctrl+F12). Under Forms tab you can see the option to Enable Password Manager.
Sometimes you may have intentionally or unintentionally chosen “Never” to save passwords on any website, you can easily change it later and save passwords. Just follow the below tips.
Under Forms tab click Password Manager. Find and click the site name and delete the URL (see the screenshot below), close the window and click OK to save the settings. Now open the site and enter your login name and password, you can see Opera asks you whether to Save login details.

Set Master Password to your all stored passwords
To secure your passwords from other users access, you can set a Master Password. Once you set a master password the next time when you trying to login using Password Manger shortcut or Ctrl+Enter you need to fill the master password.

You can set master password by going to Menu->Settings->Preferences->Advanced->Security.
Hope you enjoy the article and like Opera.
* Press Shift key and press and hold middle mouse button or right click and hold your mouse button on any web page to see how mouse gesture works.
** To create tab stack drag and drop tabs on top of one another. You can view what’s inside the stack by hovering your mouse over it and also expand and collapse the stack.

Hi,
How do I store multiple logins for the same website ? If I recall, earlier versions of opera used to support this, but not now.
Is there any way that I can store multiple logins?
Thanks
Hemanth
@Hemanth
Hi, You can do it by “using normal tab to login to one account and private tab (Right click on tab > New Private Tab) to login to another account”.
Thanks for the drop by.
