Open and Edit Files Created Using Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 in Earlier Versions

You can directly open and edit documents, workbooks, and presentations that were created in earlier versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in newer versions (Microsoft Office 2007/2010). But what about opening and editing files that were created in newer versions of Office in earlier versions (Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003). For this purpose you can use Microsoft Office compatibility pack. Prior to download this compatibility pack, users of the Microsoft Office XP and 2003 should ensure that they have installed all High-Priority updates from Microsoft Update.
